Lake Edge: The Main Lake
The 5-Acre Main Lake is surrounded by breath taking aesthetic appeal – Mature Woodland – Oak beach and Sweet Chestnut with all the sexy features of over-hanging alder trees, Lilly pads, gullies and bars. On your stay “watch out” for the biodiversity of wildlife that inhabits the surrounding woodlands and lakes: Mole crickets, Swallow tails, Roe deer, Wild boar, Polecats and red squirrels can often be seen at the lakes edge.
4 x swims available – 2 x single swims and 2 x double swims

The Carp Stock and some history
John and Sandra Bailey purchased Lake Edge in 2016. The previous owner stocked the lake with Royale strain carp (200 +) averaging around 5-10lb. After years of feeding and selective netting in 2021 and 2022 we are seeing good growth rates with 100 + carp now averaging around the 40lb mark, with the Lake record standing at 55lbs November – 2023.
In terms of other species, you will find some Roach, Zander Pike, and Perch. There are no Catfish, Cray fish or Poison Chat
Lake Details
The stream feed Main Lake was excavated around 100 year ago, with high flow/oxygen in the summer months, with no current algae problems.
There are X2 double swims accommodating 4 x anglers. The swims are built from Oak timber and positioned along the marginal bank, each complemented with gravel and grass. Each Swim is supplied with it’s own separate weighing post, weight sling, and unhooking mat with personal land/water photo areas.
The bottom consists of silt with some sandy and stony patches. On average the lake is about 2-6 feet deep. The deepest area, located along margin edge, is around 7-12 feet deep.
Large secure parking area located close to the house/lake with ease of access to all fishing swims. We also offer to take your equipment to your swim via boat and pick you up on your departure.
